Passenger (Passenger #1) by

Published January 5th 2016 by Disney-Hyperion

When you jump into Alexandra Bracken's world, violin prodigy Etta time-travels from a concert in New York City to a ship at sea, where she is a prisoner in 1776. She's a legacy from a group of families who can travel through time, and who do so in a power struggle among each other. She soon learns that her mother has hidden a secret object somewhere in the world, and in time, and she must retrieve it. This pits her either against or alongside the captain of the ship, Nicholas, a former slave, who also has this power. The book (clearly!) has adventure and plenty of romance, and luckily for we captivated readers, it's only the first in a new series.

My Review : Passenger, another Time Travel book was beautifully written and I felt like I was in the story with the characters. Bracken has created a beautiful story filled with secrets, romance, and of course, betrayals. As you read, you are able to see Etta grow as a character in the book. I loved Nicholas’ character and how he thought he had it all figured out but then he didn’t when it came to Etta. What I’ve noticed, not just in Passenger, but in so many YA novels recently, is that the stories are becoming more than just about romance and adventure and finding yourself, but also learning something about the rest of the world around you If you love books filled with adventure and romance, you will not be disappointed with this one. This was my first story by Bracken and it definitely will not be my last–I can’t wait for future installments in this series!
